If Endorolas is the leader, Velsh is the rogue, Kell is the shadow-in-the-night, Farar is the
warrior, and Laur is the mind, then Brand Liofriend would be the noble and honorable
knight. Though Endorolas is the party paladin, it is not he who is the most loyal of the
Blades; where Endorolas does all in the name of good and cold justice, Brand has
unbending faithfulness and a desire to help humanity. Just like the animal who’s name his
family bears, the Liofriend is regal and charming, following his heart in deciding what is
good or evil. Innumerable times, Endorolas and Brand have gotten into intense arguments
over what is the right thing to do, and the only reason they have not gone as far as to
attack each other is because of their own unbending moral code, which forbids attacking
friends. It has been Brand who has lead the party out of tight situations; when the entire
group had been knocked unconscious from some mage’s spell, Brand kept on fighting,
staying true to his vulnerable companions until he could fight no more, an end that never
came... Brand slew all that remained to oppose him. When his friends awoke to see Brand
kneeling at the ground head bowed, red hair matted on his back, and praying to Nobanion
in thanks for his victory, even Endorolas had to admit, Brand has the heart of a
lion.
